Just shy of two million pounds of chicken produced are being recalled due to a potential contamination of Salmonella. Aspen Foods, A Division of Chicago-based Koch Poultry Company, is recalling the frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken product. The recalled products were produced between April 15th and July 10th of this year with “best if used by” dates between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016. The Food Safety Information Service was notified of a cluster of Salmonella illnesses last month. Working in conjunction with Minnesota State Departments of Health and Agriculture, FSIS determined that there is a link between the frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken products from Aspen Foods and the illness cluster.
