New Equipment Rolls Out at Indy Farm Show

New red and green equipment

Rob ZemenchikThe Indiana-Illinois Farm Equipment Show this week at the Indiana State Fairgrounds kicks off the indoor farm show season, and there is plenty of large equipment that will be on display at the shows, including some bigger, better machines. If you like the red rigs, you’ll be interested in the 3 new products from Case IH for 2014. Rob Zemenchik is sales and marketing manager.

“Our all new 5 Series planter for example features all new bulk-fill design, seed sensing technology and cable drive, best in class,” he told HAT. “We’re also introducing our new 500 Series seeder. This is a precision disk drill for those elite seed genetics. It features parallel linkage on every row, unique to the industry. And finally our new Ecolo-Tiger® 875 model ripper. It’s the 8th generation of the product and since 1978 it’s been the market leader. But growers want to be more productive so we introduced all new hydraulic reels on the back and an upgrade to the Tiger points.”

Jarrod McGinnisAt John Deere there are updates coming for the 7R and 8R series tractors, according to Jarrod McGinnis, a division marketing manager.

“Both versions of tractor will have a new CommandView™ III Cab. Some new things inside that cab would be a new CommandCenter. All of the settings and everything to do with the tractor is on there. It also has some of our AMS functionality in it like AutoTrac can be in there, or they could run that on a separate display if they wanted. We also have 40 degrees of right hand seat swivel so that seat can swivel and as they look behind them on those long days there’s less cranking of the neck and less twisting of the back.”

See a wide assortment of new equipment through Thursday at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The HAT free seminar series continues Wednesday with Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann and Dr. Chris Hurt, Purdue ag economist.
