Northwest Indiana Regional Dairy Meetings Coming First Week of March

An excellent opportunity exists for dairy farmers and dairy industry to get timely information by attending a free regional dairy meeting. The Indiana Dairy Producers, along with Purdue University Extension and the Indiana Forage Council, are sponsoring 3 regional dairy meetings in Northwest Indiana.

Registration for the meetings begins at 9 AM, and the meetings will run from 9:30 – 2:30. Each meeting includes a delicious lunch:

Monday, March 4 – Shipshewana, The Farmstead Inn

Tuesday, March 5 – Goshen, Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Community Center

Wednesday, March 6 – Decatur, Back 40 Junction Restaurant

Calf Management Considerations, always an important topic, will be covered by Dr. Lance Fox, Dairy Field Technical Specialist, with Diamond V. Dr. Fox will be presenting at the Shipshewana and Goshen meetings. Dr. Fox is an excellent speaker and will also be happy to answer calf care questions.

Other topics include Antibiotic Residue Avoidance by Dr. Greg Edwards, “Keeping Your Cows out of Court” by attorney Todd Janzen, Dairy Outlook by Dr. Mike Schutz, information on the new fertilizer rule by Dr. Tamilee Nennich, and much more.
