Ohio State Partnership with Purdue Important to New Dean

The new dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University is bringing a wealth of experience to the position. Dr. Cathann Kress says, from her time at the Department of Defense, to time spent as an extension educator in Iowa will be what she draws on as she takes the reins at Ohio State. And, she says, while there are plenty of challenges, there are some things that will continue, including the partnership with Purdue University.

“I know the people at Purdue very well, the Extension Director Jason Henderson, Renee McKee who is with their 4-H program, know them all well and have great respect for their work. And the more collaborations and partnerships we have across the land grant university system and extension I think the greater benefit for the people who live in our state,” Kress said.

Dr. Kress will officially begin as Dean on May 1.
