Senators Discuss Proposed RFS Reduction with EPA Administrator

A bipartisan group of Senators met with Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy Wednesday to discuss the proposed reduction in the Renewable Fuel Standard. According to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley – the Administrator heard a lot about the harm the proposal would do to the environment, national and energy security and rural economies. Grassley says the proposal is a step backward that will harm efforts to further diversify the U.S. fuel supply.

He says the blend wall is a result of Big Oil’s obstruction to higher ethanol blends and the EPA proposal rewards that obstruction.
