Soy Checkoff Releases Interactive Map

They Soy Checkoff has developed a new, interactive map to make information about the U.S. inland waterway system’s locks more accessible and specific to local areas. The information was gathered in a soy checkoff-funded study that shows how important the inland waterway system is to U.S. soybean farmers. The recent study shows the waterways greatly impact farmers’ bottom lines and food prices for consumers. The map actually shows the effect a failure at each of five locks on the Ohio, Mississippi and Illinois rivers would have on prices for U.S. soybean and corn. The map is online at https://www.unitedsoybean.org/americas-locks-dams-a-ticking-time-bomb-for-agriculture/.
