RHR Looks Back on First Year in IndyCar Series
07/17/2008

Hoosier Ag Today’s Eye on the Ethanol Car is a weekly conversation with Ryan Hunter-Reay, driver of the Ethanol sponsored car in the IRL Indycar Series, fueled by 100 percent ethanol.

This past weekend the IndyCar Series hit the concrete of Nashville Superspeedway for 200 laps, but right at the half way mark Ryan Hunter-Reay hit the turn 4 wall, ending his race. He had another great qualifying run to start 4th at Nashville but the disappointing contact with driver Will Power turned a strong run into a 19th place finish. Ryan stays in 9th place in the driver standings. In this week’s discussion the Ethanol driver talks about his just completed first year in an IndyCar, the Drivers Edge program to teach young drivers how to safely handle a car on the streets, and what took him off the race course at Nashville Superspeedway.

There is more racing for the IndyCar Series this weekend. The #17 Ethanol driver will be in the Midwest for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Qualifying is Saturday and the race is Sunday at 1:30 PM ET on ABC and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network.
