“A lot of the feedback is they had no idea where the milk came from and no idea that it usually only takes about two days from farm to grocery store. We also have some children who thought when they first got to the dairy farm that a cow was a pig. So that showed us that we have to keep doing this every year because it’s so important that people understand how important dairy farming is to the state of Indiana.”
The Brunch on the Farm menu includes sausage-egg-and-cheese biscuit sandwiches, applesauce, cereal, string cheese, yogurt, and ice cold milk. This event has reached a nice number of people in the past.
“Well we prepare for about 500 and last year we had just about that. Something tells me maybe this year will be a little bit larger. We have a small community that really supports dairy farming, so I look for it to be even bigger this year.”
If you go you are asked to bring non-perishable food items for contribution to the Frankton Community Food Pantry. The free event is from 9 am to 12 noon and directions and all the details are at www.WinnersDrinkMilk.com.[audio:https://www.hoosieragtoday.com//wp-content/uploads//2012/06/2012-Brunch-on-the-farm.mp3|titles=2012 Brunch on the farm]
