The National Corn Growers Association and Growth Energy are two members of the large coalition of renewable fuel stakeholders launched Thursday. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis is pleased to see so many stakeholders and producers work together in defense of the Renewable Fuel Standard. Buis says the RFS has been the most successful energy policy enacted in the last 40 years. He says it is not only helping the U.S. reduce its dependence on foreign oil – but it is creating jobs here at home that cannot be outsourced and is revitalizing rural communities. NCGA President Garry Niemeyer – an Illinois farmer – says renewable fuels are a win-win solution to many of the energy problems facing the nation. He says it’s important to bring this truth to those representing Americans in Washington and to citizens across the country.
Growth Energy’s Buis says he looks forward to working with Fuels America to ensure we do not succumb to misinformation, special interests and shortsighted policy decisions based on single events. He says the RFS is working – and this coalition isn’t just about protecting the RFS – but the best interests of the nation and its people.
