Target Asking Pork Suppliers to Stop Gestation Stall Use

Target is now looking to eliminate the gestation stall housing system from its supply chain by 2022. Target is the nation’s second-largest discount retailer and fourth-largest food retailer. Target stated that it recognizes this task will involve a large undertaking from pork product vendors. The Humane Society of the United States praised Target for wielding its immense purchasing power to make a huge improvement in animal welfare by eliminating pig gestation crates from its pork supply chain.
