Hoosier Ag Today has launched an update to its popular free Smartphone app. The application, which allows farmers to check markets, weather, news, and crop conditions, will now offer video updates and several other advanced features and technical fixes. The update is now available for both the Android and iPhone platforms. Current HAT app users will need to upgrade their application in order to obtain these new features.
The new video channel on the HAT app will feature news reports from Hoosier Ag Today, USDA, Indiana Farm Bureau, and some of the nation’s leading agri-businesses. In addition, the upgrade will now allow photographs to appear with news stories. This feature will allow producers to view actual crop conditions, disease outbreaks and insect damage during the growing season. Technical fixes have improved the audio player and solved bugs caused by recent operating system updates on many Smartphones. A new advertising module with the new upgrade will give sponsors greater flexibility on ad placement.
Over 3,000 users have downloaded the HAT app in the past year with most using the app several times per week and many every day. The app was developed for HAT by LoadOut Technologies, a Purdue Research Park company.
