Dow AgroSciences Named Company of the Year for Women in Agribusiness

Dow AgroSciences LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), announced today that it has received the Demeter Award of Excellence in the Company of the Year category from the organization Women in Agribusiness. Demeter Awards are also awarded in the categories of Female Executive of the Year, Innovator of the Year, and Leader of the Year.

The Company of the Year award recognizes the achievements of an organization that has initiated programs to support achievements, programs, and mentoring growth of women.  Dow AgroSciences was chosen because of its continuously-improving, dedicated commitment to promoting the advancement of women in agriculture.

“This award is a testament to the culture we foster at Dow AgroSciences,” said Dow AgroSciences President and CEO Antonio Galindez. “Our employee-led, and leadership-supported, Women’s Innovation Network is a model program for the development and advancement of women. We are proud to be identified as a best-in-class example among an impressive peer group.”

The recipients of the Demeter Award of Excellence were selected by the Women in Agribusiness National Advisory Board, which includes women in managerial and executive roles from 23 select companies.

The Women in Agribusiness group seeks to make the agriculture and food sectors career destinations for today’s talented women, and to provide tools for women to become informed leaders in the industry. Dow AgroSciences will be recognized at the Women in Agribusiness Summit in Minneapolis, Minn. from Oct. 22-24.  More than 400 attendees are expected at this year’s summit.
