The National Corn Growers Association Nominating Committee is accepting applications for the 2015 Corn Board. Through the Corn Board – NCGA members can become an integral part of the organization’s leadership. NCGA Chairwoman and Nominating Committee Chair Pam Johnson says the willingness of the group’s volunteer leadership plays an important role in ensuring NCGA’s continued success. As a true grassroots organization – she says they rely upon farmers to volunteer for leadership – helping to shape policy and drive efforts. Johnson says farmers who serve on the Corn Board have a chance to build a better future for the industry and become an active force for change.

The NCGA Corn Board represents the organization on all matters while directing policy and supervising day-to-day operations. Board members serve in a variety of ways – representing the federation of state organizations, supervising the affairs and activities of NCGA in partnership with the CEO and implementing NCGA policy established by the Corn Congress. They also act as spokespeople for NCGA and enhance the organization’s public standing on all organizational and policy issues.

Applications for the 2015 Corn Board are due January 10th. Nominated candidates will be introduced in March at the Corn Congress meeting held in conjunction with Commodity Classic. Corn Board members will be elected at the July Corn Congress in Washington, D.C. – with the new terms beginning October 1st. Contact Kathy Baker at 636-733-9004 for more information.
