“I’ve certainly appreciated my time at Water Street Solutions,” he said. “It’s been a great opportunity, and it’s a great organization. It serves the farmers well. But I was simply provided an opportunity at INTL FCStone to be chief economist of commodities for their operation and some opportunities that were just too good to pass up. I’m moving forward with the blessings of those at Water Street and looking forward to the opportunities.”
Suderman has been a regular contributor at Hoosier Ag Today, and it’s not unusual to see his analysis in the Wall Street Journal and other national media outlets. But he heads to Kansas City after this week to join INTL FCStone Inc, a Fortune 500 financial services firm specializing in commodity trading.
“I’ll be heading up a research team focusing on analysis of the commodities, corn, soybeans, wheat, cattle and hogs, and providing that information to the staff as they work with clients so they can tie that together. Many people within the organization already have some solid research groundings, but being able to tie that together with what’s happening in the global markets, the money flow, the funds and the flow of the funds, currency exchange rates, some of these outside market forces that we talk about to help pull the picture together for them.”
Suderman has worked with the Kansas Extension Service where he started his career and has worked for a private consulting service helping farmers with marketing and risk management as well as Farm Futures magazine as a market analyst on its editorial team.
He shares daily market commentary with his 14,000 Twitter followers and Hoosier Ag Today online and newsletter readers, and he hopes to continue reports for HAT in the near future.
