Unsettled Weather Settling in Over the Next Few Days
“As we move into Sunday, we are going to be seeing a front sagging through the entire state. A few days ago, we thought it would hit everybody, but now we’re thinking maybe only 60 percent coverage.”
“As we go through the first part of next week, Monday and Tuesday, we still see just enough instability to kick off a few scattered showers and thunderstorms for both Monday and Tuesday. I don’t think coverage is going to be any more than probably 20 to 30 percent of the state. But then as we head toward the Tuesday night-Wednesday period, we have a big nasty weather system that wants to come in and bring rain anywhere from a quarter to maybe one inch with some strong thunderstorms in there.”
“But around the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, we have to watch to see if the remains of any kind of tropical system can come up into our neck of the woods. The GFS model is still trying to bring some of that moisture in. I don’t think it happens, but it’s something we definitely need to watch. Long story short, if you’re looking for 3 or 4 days of dryness back-to-back to get some field work done here, I can’t give it to you in the next 10 days.”
