Dairyland Seed® will expand its regional footprint and product portfolio as the primary regional seed company in the North Central Corn Belt for Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™.
As part of the change, personnel from Brodbeck Seeds® and its Wabash, Indiana, office will join Dairyland Seed, along with several North Central Corn Belt experts from Prairie Brand®, NuTech® and Seed Consultants®. In addition, Brodbeck’s Wabash, Indiana, office will become Dairyland’s new Eastern Customer Service Center to serve an expanded customer base.
“Our bold new go-to-market strategy will allow us to better serve our customers—both farmers and retail dealers and distributors—with differentiated, broader and stronger product portfolios,” says Judd O’Connor, vice president, North America, Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont in a May 9 announcement.
As a regional seed company, the Dairyland Seed product portfolio will be bolstered by the Corteva Agriscience™ R&D pipeline and the full capabilities of the company. This means farmers can expect better products; and employees, sales reps, dealers and distributors can expect increased opportunities for more sustainable growth.
“This is a tremendously exciting time for Dairyland Seed, our employees and our customers,” says Dairyland Seed General Manager Gary Leeper. “We’re taking the strongest parts of each company and layering in the strength and depth of the DowDuPont heritage to augment our current cutting-edge technology. Together, the new Dairyland Seed offers more than 300 years of heritage and legacy.”
Popular products will continue to be offered through the regional seed brands. Leeper said, “Our product lineup is certainly going to expand, not only from a genetics standpoint, but also a traits perspective. It’s exciting to have access to the Corteva Agriscience™ pipeline for grain corn, soybeans, silage and alfalfa.”
Leeper looks forward to the growth and opportunity of joining with these regional brands. “With the addition of new people and the new customer service center at Wabash, we’ll be much more concentrated and better able to serve our customers,” Leeper said. With the backing of Corteva Agriscience™, Dairyland Seed can operate as a regionally focused seed company that is very close to the customer, while enjoying the advantages of scope and scale of a major agriculture company.
“Above all else, we remain committed to farmer success for existing customers, and we welcome the opportunity to help more farmers achieve long-term success with the Dairyland family,” Leeper adds.
