It’s been a long time coming, but an upgrade to the Swine Barn at the Indiana State Fairgrounds is finally happening. A groundbreaking ceremony was held during this year’s state fair for the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion, a $50 million, 197,000 square foot, multiuse facility that will replace the almost century-old Swine Barn at the fairgrounds.

Indiana Farm Bureau President Randy Kron explains why they decided to put their name on the new building.

“This was just a good fit with the Fall Creek Pavilion because there will be a lot of youth activities there. We’ve put a lot of focus on youth development, engagement, leadership, developing new young leaders, the future of agriculture, and it was a great fit. So, we’re proud to be able to call it the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.”

Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch explains the importance of updating that facility.

“To really showcase the swine, but also to be able to allow the public to use that facility year-round. It’s just going to add another dimension here to the state fair.”

The 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship is already scheduled to be in the new Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion. Construction will begin soon and will be completed in time for the 2023 Indiana State Fair.
