Chief Meteorologist Ryan Martin is calling for some moisture to kick off the weekend in his Seed Genetics Direct Harvest Weather Forecast. Order from Seed Genetics Direct and save $4 per unit of soybeans, $10 per unit of corn, and 11% more when you pay by Nov. 10!
Martin says we should expect some Saturday rain.
“A frontal boundary complex coming through gives us all a chance at maybe a tenth to ¾ of an inch. A large part of the state, I think, ends up in that quarter to half inch range out of your Saturday precipitation. This is a system that we’ve had to move forward over the past few days, but by moving it forward we’re also ending it quicker. Precipitation should be done by sunset on Saturday, no later than that.”

After that Saturday rain, Martin’s forecast calls for a nice, dry window.
“I’m looking at sunshine coming back in full force on Sunday. High pressure is sitting right over the top of us for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. I actually think Thursday and Friday are going to be mostly dry as well. One thing I’m watching though is the remains of a tropical system that’s moving through the Carolinas, maybe throwing a little bit more cloud cover back into the Eastern Corn Belt, particularly Ohio and Indiana.”

Our next significant frontal complex following this weekend’s will be coming next weekend.
“Overnight Friday through Saturday the 12th and even into Sunday the 13th we have a major surge of cold Canadian air coming southward. In that, I think we have to deal with a little bit of precipitation. Right now, a few hundredths to a few tenths. It doesn’t look massive, but cold air could be the bigger story. Focal point on the big moisture right now is Wisconsin and Minnesota. We’ll have to see if that wants to come farther south at all.”
