“This is the first time anyone has ever put nitrogen on seed before planting,” says Clayton Nevins – Agronomy Scientist with Pivot Bio (shown above) – talking about their new product called PROVEN® 40 On-Seed.
“This is a more reliable, efficient form of nitrogen,” says Nevins. “We know our nitrogen is right on the roots of the plant and then we’re storing nitrogen in the plant and not in the soil. Unlike other forms of nitrogen that leach into waterways or volatilize into the air, our nitrogen is right there on the roots and makes it into the plant over the course of the growing season”
The agronomists at Pivot Bio recently tested their new PROVEN® 40 On-Seed and PROVEN® 40 liquid in-furrow product products at more than 2,100 farm fields across the U.S.
“In each of these fields, we had the grower apply Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40 and replace up to 40 pounds of synthetic nitrogen. Then, we left the check strip in that field with a full standard nitrogen measurement practice. When will use Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40 and we replace synthetic nitrogen on average across all the different environments, we had 12% more biomass and 14% more nitrogen in the plant compared to the growers’ standard practice – so, we’re seeing bigger, healthier greener plants when using Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40,” according to Nevins.
He adds it’s a win-win for farmers because the on-seed nitrogen isn’t just more effective and wastes less nitrogen – it’s also a huge saver of your time and your money.
“Especially with our new Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40, which is making the product available to any grower because it doesn’t require any special equipment to use and it could be potentially saving a pass in the field as well,” says Nevins.
