Jordyn Wickard, an ag communications student at Purdue University, has been chosen to join the Hoosier Ag Today broadcast team as a summer intern. The internship is made possible by a grant from the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Foundation. Wickard will work with the broadcast team of Andy Eubank, Eric Pfeiffer, C.J. Miller, and Elise Koning on coverage of Indiana agriculture.
Wickard grew up on a Hancock County livestock farm, graduated from Eastern Hancock High School, and served as an Indiana FFA State Officer in 2021.
“I am ecstatic about the opportunity to serve as the Hoosier Ag Today intern,” says Wickard. “As I chart my future in the area of agricultural communications, I look forward to working alongside professionals in the industry to share agriculture’s story.”
“Jordyn has the desire to learn more about farm broadcasting and offers many of the traits that make for great multimedia contributors to our industry,” says Eubank. “We’ll work with her to get a fuller understanding of what we do and gain some important broadcasting skills in the process.”
In 2023, the NAFB Foundation Internship Program is offering 15 internship grants to member stations and networks. Each grant helps provide students on-the-job experiences in agricultural broadcasting – from live reports covering ag events and activities to a look at the business model of a broadcast entity. The Hoosier Ag Today internship also provides experience in video production and social media content creation.
