While the Indiana State Fair is going on, don’t forget to stop by the FFA Pavilion on the north side of Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center.Kelby Roberts, the 2023-24 Indiana FFA President, says a lot of folks are drawn to the FFA Pavilion at the Indiana State Fair to play a free round of Putt-Putt with the family.
“Our Putt-Putt is kind of the focal point of our Corteva Agriscience Indiana FFA Pavilion,” says Roberts. “It’s actually free, but it also is offered for donations, so all the generous people that give donations, we are very thankful for those. Most importantly, it’s really exciting for us as officers to see the joy on people’s faces they play Putt-Putt with their friends and family and just have a good time here at the Indiana State Fair.”
After playing a round of free Putt-Putt, Roberts says the family can also visit their Animal Wing.
“Animal agriculture is where my love for agriculture first came, and so seeing other people who may not get to experience that every day, as I have every day of my life, is really super cool because we get to see them really immerse themselves in animal agriculture—and sometimes introduce themselves to animal agriculture—and have those interactions that they don’t get everyday,” says Roberts.
She also recommends that you stop and shop inside their Country Market, which is another showcase for Indiana’s ag products including jams, honey, and maple syrup.
“Different products made here in Indiana from agricultural enterprises are sold in the Country Market. It’s a way to work with our Indiana FFA Foundation, which funds a lot of the members’ activities throughout the year, as well as everything that we get to do all throughout Indiana FFA. It’s a really awesome opportunity for visitors at the Indiana State Fair to immerse themselves in Indiana agriculture and get to experience first-hand with these products are like,” Roberts says.
The FFA Pavilion is sponsored by Corteva Agriscience and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays during the 2023 Indiana State Fair until Aug. 20.
