Chief Meteorologist Ryan Martin is calling for a mostly dry week ahead in his Seed Genetics Direct Harvest Weather Forecast.
Martin’s forecast is sunny and dry for the weekend, though we will feel some chilly temperatures.
“Then we transition into a warmer high pressure dome for next week. Monday through Thursday, we are sunny, warm and dry, just excellent evaporation and a dry down, even as clouds increase a little bit next Friday. It’s not from a front. We’re just seeing a few more clouds around.”
Next weekend looks dry at this point as well. Martin says a big weather system will be settling into the Four Corners region late this next week and will start moving our way.
“I think that gives us our next round of well-organized moisture coming in Monday the 20th, where we can see a quarter to three-quarters of an inch. But that is the only significant threat of moisture that I’m seeing here in the next 10 days.”
With only that one little blip of rain in the forecast, Martin says those not finished with harvest and fieldwork should have plenty of opportunity to wrap up.
“Temperatures look to stay well above normal for next week on through probably Thanksgiving at this point. Even with moisture coming out of the Four Corners for the week of the 20th, it looks to me like temperatures stay warm all across the U.S. for the rest of that week. No major incursions of Arctic air anytime soon. That should continue to allow faster drying.”
