Corn Growers Focus on a New Farm Bill, Year-Round E15, Sustainable Aviation Fuel at Commodity Classic

Hogging much of the discussion this week at Commodity Classic in Houston, Texas is the status of the Farm Bill. Ferdinand, Indiana farmer and member of the National Corn Board JR Roesner says they’re still hopeful a new Farm Bill can get done this year even with election politics taking center stage in Washington, D.C.

“We’re continuing to push for passage this year. We’re really focusing in on our priorities with crop insurance, with some of the foreign market development and market access programs to help trade promotion, and also finding ways we can improve those safety nets through ARC and PLC that farmers need. Especially given the downturn in farm prices here.”

In addition to the Farm Bill, Roesner says year-round E15 and sustainable aviation fuel will be hot topics of conversation this week. You can watch the video with Roesner below to hear his thoughts.
