Despite EPA’s proposal to reduce RFS levels in 2014 – Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says the Obama Administration remains committed to the production of clean, renewable energy from homegrown sources – and to the businesses working hard to create the next generation of biofuels. Vilsack says it’s important to take a long-term approach to the RFS. While he supports the RFS – Vilsack believes improved distribution and increased consumer use of renewable fuels are critical to the future of the industry. Vilsack says he is pleased EPA is requesting comments on how to help the biofuels industry expand the availability of high-ethanol blends – and he hopes the industry uses the comment period to provide constructive suggestions.
