Indiana Pork Names 2015 Youth Ambassadors

Cameron Mann and Kaila Taylor were recently named the 2015 Youth Ambassadors by Indiana PorkCameron Mann.

The Youth Ambassador’s will serve a year long term beginning this month. They will attend several public facing events promoting Indiana’s pork industry and will work on youth initiatives set forth by a committee consisting of Indiana producers and allied industry partners.

Cameron Mann is from Cloverdale, Indiana, where she was raised on her family’s grain and hog production farm. The family farm operates a wean to finish hog operation. She is currently at Purdue University double majoring in Agricultural Communication and Ag Sales & Marketing. Her passion for sharing the story of agriculture took root from her interest in the family farm and her participation in the National FFA Organization and 4-H.

Kaila TaylorKaila Taylor is from Uniondale, Indiana and a current junior at Purdue University studying Agribusiness Management. She has been showing livestock for 15 years and enjoys traveling with her family to pig shows on the Indiana Junior Swine Circuit and national shows including World Pork Expo and the National Junior Summer Spectacular. Her family is also is part of a show pig business called Turner and Taylor Show Pigs.

Mann and Taylor were interviewed and selected by the youth committee from a group of 17 applicants. They will both receive a $1,000 scholarship to put towards their education.

“Cameron and Kaila’s diverse experiences will prove to be an asset for our association,” said Kalyn Rose, the Communication Manager at Indiana Pork. “We look forward to including them in our programming this year.”
