ABFA Wants Congress to Change RFS

The Advanced Biofuels Association has asked Congress to make changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard – according to The Hagstrom Report. ABFA President Michael McAdams says the Association believes if Congress enacts the changes outlined – the investment community will have the certainty necessary to finance continued development of the advanced and cellulosic industry. McAdams says ABFA members are facing incredible challenges – and the RFS has become one of the greatest obstacles to continued development of the industry due to inconsistent and poor implementation. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says opening up the RFS for legislative changes opens a can of worms that will create further uncertainty for the industry. Buis says the ABFA proposal is shortsighted and would set the entire renewable fuels industry on the path to a rollback of the RFS.
