Beck’s Hybrids is excited to announce a new territory expansion into the western two-thirds of Tennessee, plus 35 additional counties in eastern Kentucky. As the largest family-owned seed company in the United States, Beck’s marketing area also includes Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, southern Michigan and the western half of Kentucky. With the Tennessee and Kentucky expansion, more than one million acres of both corn and soybeans, as well as 500,000 acres of wheat has been added to Beck’s marketing area.
“Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an increase in farmers who see the value in working with a family-owned seed company,” said Scott Beck, vice president of Beck’s Hybrids. “We are looking forward to providing Tennessee farmers with the best in seed quality, field performance and service.”
Before adding a new sales territory, it was important to Beck’s Hybrids to have the infrastructure in place first, in order to better serve farmers. In July 2012, Beck’s Hybrids purchased its first permanent location in Kentucky. Located in Henderson, the land and newly built facility is an ideal location for farmers in Beck’s southern marketing area. The 150-acre property will include a distribution center that provides educational and agronomic support.

Beck’s Hybrids also conducts Practical Farm Research (PFR)® studies and will store research equipment for Beck’s Southern Choice Trials at the Henderson, Ky., facility. PFR studies are designed with the farmer in mind. These studies include testing different management practices and new technologies to determine how they perform in varying field environments. Choice Trials is a research program that provides farmers with more products tailored for their specific growing conditions. Farmers can expect to tour the PFR studies at Beck’s Kentucky Field Show on August 6, 2013.
