Crop Tour Wraps up with Iowa and Minnesota Estimates

The Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour wrapped up Thursday. Ty Higgins reported from the tour Iowa corn yields as low as 162 bushels per acre and 241 bushels on the high end, and at midday a preliminary state average of 190 was being talked about. The numbers for Iowa and Minnesota were released on Thursday night and Pro Farmer now estimates the corn crop in Iowa just under that at 188.17 bushels to the acre and the average soybean pod count in a 3 by 3 foot square of 1224.28.

Minnesota estimates are 182.32 bushels per acre in corn and 1107.60 soybean pods in a 3 x 3 foot square.

Pro Farmer will release their final totals for this year’s crop tour Friday afternoon. Coverage of the Tour for HAT all week long has been sponsored by Seed Consultants, Simply the Best Value in the Seed Industry. And thanks to Ty of Ohio Ag Net for his updates.
