Department of Education Appoints FFA Executive Secretary

Sherene Donaldson has been appointed National FFA Executive Secretary by the U.S. Department of Education. She is tasked with helping develop, implement and manage policy for the National FFA Organization. Her primary responsibilities will include issuing charters to state FFA associations as directed by the organization’s national board of directors, keeping official membership records, tracking progress of the organization and overseeing the reporting of state FFA associations to the board. Donaldson says she has a passion for educating children and adults that stems from her belief in the power of education and life-long learning. She believes education needs transformative and compassionate leaders who are willing to challenge the status quo and prepare students with the college and career readiness skills they need for their future.

According to Dr. Steve Brown – National FFA Advisor and Education Department Official – Donaldson has a rich, professional background that will serve her well as the National FFA Organization’s Executive Secretary. He says she believes in the FFA mission and is excited about opportunities to connect with FFA members and with local, state and national leaders engaged in school-based agricultural education.
