DuPont Pioneer Harvest Update 10/3/17A lot of the corn and soybeans in Southern Indiana got planted in April, and those early planted fields are maturing fast and yielding well. Bill Meachem, with DuPont Pioneer, said, “Corn yields have been really good. Many of our test plots have been yielding 204 bpa and more. Much better than we had anticipated.” He added this was a year when full season hybrids really did well.
The warm and dry weather that has dominated the state for the past two months has helped the early planted crop mature fast and dry down quickly, “The weather has also helped harvest move along without any major problems.” He said moisture levels have been dropping nicely over the past few weeks.
