In response to Protec’s announcement that E15 is now being offered for the first time in the metro-area of Atlanta, Georgia, at two Mountain Express retail locations, Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy, issued the following statement:
“I would like to extend congratulations on behalf of Growth Energy and its members to Protec Fuel and to Mountain Express for their efforts to offer consumers a choice of homegrown, renewable fuels that help reduce harmful emissions and provide consumers with a choice and savings at the pump.
“Protec’s continual march to find new locations to offer E15 is to be commended and shows they are a leader in providing sustainable, homegrown fuel options to their consumers. Clearly there is a strong demand for E15, as we continue to see new retailers offer it. One thing is clear – when consumers are given the choice, they will choose the higher performing, less expensive fuel that is better for their engines and our environment – one that creates jobs in America and reduces our dangerous dependence on foreign oil.
“E15 been exhaustively tested by the Department of Energy, and since its approval in 2012, millions of miles have been driven on E15 without one single issue. This fuel delivers and it is clear why more and more retail locations offer it.
“Protec and Mountain Express are helping pave the way in Georgia for consumer choice and savings. By offering a higher octane fuel for less, they are not only gaining a competitive edge, but they are serving their consumers who want to support cleaner burning, homegrown fuels.”
