E15 Clears Final EPA Regulatory Hurdle for Moving to Market

The U-S Environmental Protection Agency cleared the final pathway for E-15 to enter the motor fuels marketplace today in a final regulatory move. The evaluation of E15 health effects data by EPA is the last step by federal regulators in response to Growth Energy’s three-year old petition to allow the higher ethanol blend to be sold in the United States. Growth Energy filed its Green Jobs Waiver for E15 three years ago arguing that higher blends of domestic ethanol will reduce emissions, create jobs and strengthen national security. E-P-A finally approved E15 for all motor vehicles built since TWO-THOUSAND-AND-ONE (2001) after rigorous engine and emissions testing.
