Despite threats from Republicans to thwart proposed regulations, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Administrator has no plans on backing down. The Washington Post Reports Gina McCarthy is moving forward with plans for tougher limits on emissions of carbon dioxide and methane, among other regulations. McCarthy said this week “the American people want the EPA to continue to protect them and their families, and most importantly, their kids.”

Meanwhile, the Waters of the US proposal remains targeted by the incoming Congress, if not sooner in the lame duck session. Asked about the Republican threat to block the EPA’s funding, McCarthy noted deep support for robust climate-change policies by both the White House and large majorities of Americans of both major political parties.
