The Hoosier Ag This Week Podcast for 3/29/25

On this edition of Hoosier Ag This Week: You’ll hear from Indiana farmers David Hardin and Matthew Lucas, who were both in Mexico recently with the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) getting a first-hand look at the trade issues impacting both the U.S. and Mexico since our neighbor to the south was our leading destination for U.S. pork in 2024.

You’ll also hear from Sam Gettinger of Rush County. He’s a board member and past president of the Indiana Meat Packers and Processors Association (IMPPA). He tells Hoosier Ag Today that state and federal budget cuts could end up having a negative impact on our state’s meat processors.

Plus, the creators of SoyShield were the top winners in the annual Soy Innovation Challenge held this past week at Purdue University’s campus. You’ll hear from the winners and why the contest is an important one for Indiana soybean producers.

All that, plus Brian Basting with Advance Trading reviews two major reports from USDA that are being released on Monday at noon Eastern. That’s all part of the Hoosier Ag This Week Podcast!
