Faces of Farming and Ranching Finalists Announced

The U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance has announced the finalists of its Faces of Farming and Ranching program. The nationwide search was launched earlier this summer to help put real faces on agriculture. Of the more than 100 applications submitted – nine individuals were selected as finalists. USFRA Chairman Bob Stallman says the candidates selected reflect the extent of diversity in agriculture across the nation. He says these exceptional farmers and ranchers can bring the reality of farming and ranching to the forefront for consumers. The final winners will become the face of agriculture and will be tapped to share stories and experiences on a national stage to help shift conversations about food production and set the record straight about the way we feed our nation.

Program finalists include Chris Chinn of Missouri, Will Gilmer of Alabama, Daphne Holterman of Wisconsin, Brenda Kirsch of Oregon, Tim Nilsen of California, Eric McClam of South Carolina, Katie Pratt of Illinois, Bo Stone of North Carolina and Janice Wolfinger of Ohio. People can now visit www dot fooddialogues dot com (www.fooddialogues.com) to learn more about these finalists and the work they do. Consumers, farmers and ranchers can then vote on who they believe best represents those across the country who work to bring food to the table. The votes will be considered as the Faces of Farming and Ranching are chosen. A panel of judges will also interview and evaluate the finalists to help in the final determination. The winners will be announced in early January.
