Five Scholarships Available to Attend ASA Soybean Leadership College

Indiana soybean farmers interested in attending the American Soybean Association’s Soybean Leadership College may now apply for five available scholarships. The Soybean Leadership College takes place Jan. 7-8, 2019 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Charles at 2 Convention Center Plaza in St. Charles, Mo. Interested farmers must submit all scholarship applications by Dec. 7.

ASA’s Soybean Leadership College provides agricultural leaders with training to effectively promote the agriculture and soybean industry, communicate key soybean and farming messages and work to expand markets for U.S. soybeans. It also allows farmers to interact with soybean growers from around America. This training program is designed for soybean farmers who wish to get more involved in one of the following organizations: Indiana Soybean Alliance, American Soybean Association, United Soybean Board and U.S. Soybean Export Council.

“For farmers who want to learn how to effectively communicate about agriculture, the ASA Soybean Leadership College offers a great opportunity,” said Elaine Gillis, an ISA board member and farmer from Dunkirk, Ind. “With fewer Americans farming, it’s vital that we have growers who can clearly explain the challenges and chores of U.S. agriculture. ISA is excited to offer scholarships for Indiana soybean farmers interested in participating.”

Five scholarships covering most costs are available through the Indiana soybean checkoff organization. To apply, visit https://bit.ly/2RLw76v and fill out the online application by Dec. 7.
