Indiana Pork is the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Indy’s Bacon Fest scheduled for Saturday, January 31 from 12 pm – 4 pm at The Crane Bay Event Center in downtown Indianapolis. The event, which promises to be an annual tradition, is being managed by iHeartMEDIA (Q95, ALT 103-3 & WNDE). Tickets sold out in early January and up to 2,000 people are expected to attend. Bacon fans will sample cured pork creations from many of Indy’s finest local restaurants and chefs. Bacon novelties and smokehouse-inspired drinks will also be available for sampling throughout the afternoon. The event will highlight some 20 vendors, all hand selected for their excellence in bacon.
Indiana Pork will be onsite with a booth featuring promotional giveaways as well as free bacon pork burger samples from Shoup’s Country Foods in Frankfort.
“Of all the events we’ve participated in over the past few years, this one has generated the most buzz from the general public. iHeartMEDIA has a huge reach in Indiana, and we are excited they approached us with this opportunity to promote pork to consumers in a fun and interesting way,” said Sarah Ford, director of checkoff programs at Indiana Pork.
