U.S. Department of Agriculture Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Julia A. Wickard, reminds producers of dates and locations for public meetings on the new Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs authorized by the Farm Bill. These programs provide revenue and price loss payments to eligible producers for the 2014 through 2018 crop years.
“We are excited to partner with Purdue Extension and the Purdue Center for Commercial Agriculture to provide the tools needed for our producers to make program decisions that are best for their individual circumstances, said Wickard. “Producers must make a one-time decision to retain or reallocate crop bases, to retain or update program payment yields, and they also must decide which type of coverage they want for the 2014 to 2018 crop years,” she said.
During the workshops, Extension representatives will demonstrate the online decision-making tools that are available to producers to help make important enrollment decisions regarding the ARC/PLC programs.
Producers are invited to attend one or more of the following public meeting sessions. Each session will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
