Overnight Highlights

  • In overnight markets: corn +1 ¼, soybeans – ¼, wheat + ¼, crude +.13, gold -3.20, Dollar -.01, Dow futures +11.     
  • The Trump Administration’s recent proposed 2018 budget is not viewed as friendly to the Ag sector, as substantial cuts to subsidies and crop insurance are included.
  • Trade is likely to be choppy through the Memorial Day holiday, as June weather is now the focus. Look for weather premium to be added if necessary warmth and dryness is not achieved.
  • The Dollar and the Real are both down slightly – keep an eye on this important currency relationship in the near-term.
  • EIA Energy report will be released at 9:30am CDT.
  • Tuesday funds sold 10,000 corn, 5,000 soybeans, 3,000 wheat, 3,000 meal, 4,000 oil.
