Pork Board Looking for a Few Good Producers

The National Pork Board is seeking candidates for its board of directors. Pork Checkoff spokesperson Cindy Cunningham encourages active pig farmers to consider this leadership opportunity.

“Qualified candidates are encouraged to look into this exciting opportunity to help lead the industry,” she said. “We are encouraging our state leaders to actively participate in this process by nominating producers from your state. They can be local leaders, national leaders, state leaders. We really want pork producers who are aware of the issues impacting pork production and pork producers, and who are willing to give of themselves and their time for their industry.”

If you are interested in this opportunity or have someone you’d like to nominate to the National Pork Board, applications are due at the beginning of November.

“Candidates can find the application online and these applications are due by November first. After the applications have been sent in, then interviews will be scheduled for December fifth through the sixth in Des Moines.”

For more information, producers can contact the Pork Checkoff Service Center. Go to www.Pork.org or call 800-456-PORK.
