Seed Producer Expanding in Tipton

Total Seed ProductionTipton-based Total Seed Production Inc. is expanding its seed corn and soybean seed production facility. The project, slated to begin this year, will include the addition of nearly 35,000 square-feet of space.

Details regarding the investment into the project were not released, but TSP President Aaron Conaway says the investment is “significant.” He says more jobs will be added when the expansion is complete, but it is unclear exactly how many jobs will be created.

“This expansion is to accommodate the growing need for our soybean production and services,” said Conaway. “Demand has increased 250% in the past 2 years, and we are expecting the demand to continue to increase over the next 5 years.”

The expansion includes 28,500 square feet of warehouse space and a 6,400 square-foot facility for the company’s crop spraying operation. It is the latest in a string of expansions for TSP, the most recent of which was the addition of a fully-automated packaging line and 24,000 square feet of warehouse space in 2014.
