Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns and Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson are cosponsoring the If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act. The legislation removes Obamacare provisions that require insurance companies to discontinue or dramatically change many of their health care plans. Reports surfaced earlier this week that the health care plans of millions of Americans would expire in the coming months due to Obamacare requirements. Johanns says forcing millions of Americans to give up the current health care plans they like is unfair.
A CBS report estimates more than two-million will get booted from their current plans. The estimate from NBC News is even higher – finding that 50 to 75-percent of the 14-million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a cancellation letter or the equivalent.
