USDA is now accepting applications from states for up to $100 million in grants for biofuels infrastructure. USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Friday the department is now accepting the applications. The grants stem from the announcement last month following the EPA’s Renewable Fuels Standard proposal that USDA would provide funding for biofuels infrastructure. USDA will award competitive grants, matched by states, to expand the infrastructure for distribution of higher blends of renewable fuels. This new investment seeks to double the number of fuel pumps capable of supplying higher blends of renewable fuel to consumers, according to USDA.
