Weekly Ethanol Production Increases

According to EIA data, ethanol production averaged 960,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 40.32 million gallons daily. That is up 14,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 954,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.62 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 20.8 million barrels. That is a 0.2% decrease from last week and the lowest of the year.Imports of ethanol were zero b/d. This is the 24th straight week imports have remained nonexistent.

Gasoline demand for the week averaged 408.1 million gallons (9.716 million barrels) daily—a whopping 149.4 billion gallons annualized. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged a record-setting 922,000 b/d, or 14.2 bg on an annualized basis. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 9.88%.
